Mena Alexandra suvari born February 13, 1979 in America, is an actress, fashion designer and a model. Following a brief time as a model in the fashion industry, she quickly transitioned to acting, appearing as guest stars on TV shows such as Boy Meets World in the 1990s, and High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in the 1997 documentary Nowhere. With her performances on American Beauty - for which she was nominated to be awarded an award called a BAFTA Award - and American Pie and American Pie, which earned much attention as she stepped into more prominent roles. Since then she appeared on screen in Loser (2000) alongside the American Pie co-star Jason Biggs as well as later portrayed the lead character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). Spun is an independent film from 2002 and the thriller film Trauma (2004) was the most recent of her appearances. Also, she starred in HBO the drama Six Feet Under. The series was a hit in 2004 and in 2005 the Screen Actors Guild nominated her as one of the most outstanding actors. In 2008 she was cast in several films which included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari was featured in numerous blog and fashion publications, including Vogue. Suvari is also a Lancome model and appears on ads in print of Lancome Paris Adaptive. Suvari is a committed advocate and supporter of the African Medical and Research Foundation. She is an activist for female empowerment, as well as a member of charities that are fighting breast cancer or the End Violence Against Women movement.
